Home for the Holidays
Home for Christmas break from Malta. Today is our first day of snow. It has been pretty mild so far.
The plane ride went over well. Flew 3 hours from Malta to Gatwick. The bus driver in Malta carried my luggage off the bus for me! Talk with the couple next to me (from England) about EU politics!
Stayed the night in Heathrow airport. Took a direct bus from Gatwick to Heathrow (1 hour) then settled in at Heathrow. It was extremely quiet from 1 am till sbout 4:30 am then the flights started arriving and departing! My flight left at 11:30 am (too cheap to pay for a hotel or hostel plus less hassel) Airports however are not designed to be slept in!
My flight from Heathrow to Hali was about 10 hours! With a stop over in St. John's NFLD to go through customs and pick up extra passengers! Finally had a window sit on a plane! They guy next to me was from the Navy he was over in Glasgow because of the Canadian sub that caught fire and killed a man. We talked alot about his experiances and where he has travelled. Note: visit Iceland and Sweden nice places. Said that the Red Light District was amazing (he is on duty so it was because of what he saw not what you can do!) He's 39 got a wife and kids and a lab; I know I suck people dry for information and has a sister with kids in the Netherlands said that would be one of his favorite places, however he does not so much care for the people. He couldn't pick a favorite places though.
Then we talked about my travels and life in Malta and obviously I can't restrain myself from telling how much I love the people but that they're soo passive.
Spent a couple of nights with Scott in Halifax. We went out to supper my first night. The second night I went out with his flatmate and her friend while he went out on a pub crawl! Then I got the bus home and surprised the 'rents 2 days early cause they were supposed to pick me up on Tuesday (I got in on Sunday)
Then apparently I can't compete with STUPID STUPID reality TV. Survivor finale was on and so everyone wanted to watch that instead of hanging out! Then the next night we got together and went out to, you guessed it JASPERS for coffee and this time I actually drank it cause I now drink coffee instead of tea! I introduced them to Hay Hay's in coffee. Mmmmm. Good stuff!
Mom had the whole place decorated for Christmas it looks beautiful as usual! We spent time together baking for Christmas! Although the dog took the opportunity to enjoy some of it! Ah well...things happen!
Only 4 days till Christmas and I'm still not finished my Christmas shopping! I have Bhre for Secret Santa and I have no idea what to get her and the books I wanted to get mom are not available in NS...of course not why would they be?!?!
We got a new version of MSN messenger and I've sort of been deprived of it in Malta plus this is the new version I live on it! It's soo much fun! I think I need to get a life I use it instead of hanging out with people.....I think that's how they decide you have a problem....ah well! I'm really enjoying the ...... as well!
Anyway that's my rant probably until I'm back in Malta but I am looking forward to going back and seeing everyone finding out how their breaks/travels were!
