Celebrated my roommates birthday yesterday.  Had pasta for dinner and a brunch in the morning for her.  Did a treasure hunt in Mdina the other nite and that was really fun!  We didn't win but we learned more about the area.

For the brunch one of the girls made crepes and brought them over and we made fruit salad and momsa's.  It was really nice.

Another girl moved into our flat on Saturday nite.  She's from France.  She is her on an internship!  She'll be here for a month and then back home.  She seems very pleasent and I think she will be nice to have around in the flat!

Went to the craft village near Rabat the other day.  It was really nice.  I got to blow glass however it broke!  It was really ugly anyway.  They make alot of handmade jewlery from Filigery...I think that's what you call it.

The weather is starting to improve which is a plus especially considering that just last week we had a huge hail storm...didn't last too long with all the thunder and such but for Malta...you know what I mean.

Classes are going well.  Still no marks out yet but they said by the start of next month they will be out for sure.

One of the girls who was supposed to live in my flat but moved out after the first nite and got an apartment is spending more time with us...she is from Australia and is nice to be around.

The newbies are settling in well.  They were doing, and sortof still are, the typical away from home at uni party thing but they seem to be settling into class well.

One of the guys from downstairs made a delicious supper for us.  Chiara came with me as well.

We're going to see Mdina for a treasure hunt with a group from uni.  That should be heaps of fun especially with the new people who haven't been there yet!

Spending a lot of time exploring the Island with my flatmates.  Visited Mosta Dome and Mgarr yesterday!  Great fun!  All the new people are making for an interesting semester.

Had about an inch of hail fall the otherday!  It was crazy.  Loads of thunder with it.  Some of the people had hail ball fights.

Federica leaves today so we went out to St. Gabriel's for pizza and wine it was really nice.  I now live with Jenny from Ireland, Chiara, Natalie from Arizona and possibly one other new person.  When we came back last nite our sink had been pulled away from the wall, so there was water all over the floor and it smelled of gas.  One of the guys thought he made it back to his room (REALLY DRUNK) but actually it was ours and he hit the sink and the stove and then passed out on our sofa.  We weren't sure if he passed out from the fumes or because he was drunk.  We hadn't been around.  Got some help, turns out he was just drunk but scary just the same.  This is just after mom just called to tell me to make sure and always leave a window open because a bunch of kids were killed from fumes in a hostel in Spain.  Thanks mom!

This week we had people over (25) for Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday.  Martigra.  That was really good.  It was so windy and rainy the other day my window flooded that was a first luckily our maid was a day late coming to change our linens so she caught it in time.

Chiara did up a really good set of Italian lessons for me with pictures and everything.  I can remember that better!

It's the start of a new semester.  Leila flew out yesterday night and it was really hard to see her go! :(  I've lost my 2 best friends here.  It's amazing at how close you get with people that you've only know a couple of months when there is no one else.

I have a roommate now.  Natalie from Arizona.  She's nice.  It's really weird having a roommate cause I'm used to things going my way.  But I think we are making the best out of it.

The residence is crazy.  There are so many people coming and going.  Emotions all over the place.  There were 2 Irish girls who moved in for the weekend and they brought with them alot of their other Irish friends to the flat so it was REALLY crowded over the weekend.  There was another girl that was there for a nite.  Alison from Australia.  she has a boyfriend here with her so she got a flat and moved out.  Things are still going to be changing so it'll be another week before I know who will be living in the flat and how things are going to go.

Went to carnival celebrations in Valletta on Saturday.  It was amazing the bright beautiful elaberate floats and costumes on everyone, it was an experiance to remember regardless of the fact that I forgot my camera. (dammit)  There were vendors along the streets with carnival treats and music playing from every possible place.  It was so amazing I felt like a little kid.  There were skits by dancers etc prepared to for the crowds.  Carnival started on Friday and it goes through until Tuesday night.  We had Prinjolata which is the carnival cake in Malta and it is soo good!

Meet up with a friend of mine from Malta (Chris) with Leila and checked out a nice little wine bar just up the street from the residence.  Really nice place, surprisingly I had never ventured in the that area.

The weather is a lil nicer.  I don't find it as cool so that is nice.
